Serving the musculoskeletal needs of the Ark-La-Tex, and the surrounding areas, our world-renowned doctors and surgeons provide patients with the specialized orthopedic and sports medicine care they need to get back and maintain an active, healthy life. We have two clinic locations in Shreveport and Bossier City. Our Shreveport location is on the same campus as Specialists Hospital Shreveport, has an Occupational Therapy Clinic, radiology department including x-ray, MRI, and CT.
When Orthopedic Specialists of Louisiana opened their doors in 1972, our founding partners were some of the first orthopedic surgeons in the area that were fellowship trained and board certified. Today all our physicians are fellowship-trained in their area of subspecialty, as well as, fully trained in general orthopedics. Currently, we have (10) practicing partners all fellowship trained, (8) board certified and (3) board eligible. Our practice has grown and changed a great deal in the last 50 years, but our commitment to orthopedic excellence remains our focus. Sprain it, tear it, pull it, break it, wear it out… we’ll fix it!
Musculoskeletal Institute of Louisiana
Orthopedic Specialists of Louisiana and Pain Care Consultants operate jointly as Musculoskeletal Institute of Louisiana. Pain Care Consultants has (4) physicians that are fellowship trained and board certified in pain management and have a separate clinic on the Shreveport campus and share clinic space with Orthopedic Specialists of Louisiana at the Bossier City clinic location. Musculoskeletal Institute of Louisiana is the majority shareholder in Specialists Hospital Shreveport.
Pain Care Consultants
Pain Care Consultants has (4) physicians that are fellowship trained and board certified in pain management: Rama Letchuman, MD, Kathleen Majors, MD, Matthew Mosura, MD and Ross Nelson, MD. The Pain Care Consultant Team works directly with their partners at Orthopedic Specialists of Louisiana and are an incredible resource for patients that are dealing with chronic pain as well as the patient that would like to consider non-surgical options, like injections or medication management. We work diligently to make sure the transition between the teams at OSL and PCC is seamless. Patients do not need a referral to make an appointment and can directly contact the Pain Care Clinic at 318.629.5505.
Specialists Hospital Shreveport
Specialists Hospital Shreveport is a physician owned, 29-bed hospital that focuses solely on orthopedic and spine care and interventional pain management. They have (8) state of the art operating rooms dedicated to orthopedic and spine surgery. Specialists Hospital Shreveport was recently recognized as a Certified Orthopedic Center of Excellence by DNV Healthcare Accreditation Services.
Disclosure of Physician Ownership
Musculoskeletal Institute of Louisiana, LLC (Orthopedic Specialists of Louisiana, & Pain Care Consultants) and Spine institute of Louisiana, LLC, have entire ownership interest in Specialists Hospital Shreveport. You have the right to choose the provider or facility for your health care services. Therefore you have the option to use a facility other than Specialists Hospital Shreveport for services prescribed by your physician. You will not be treated differently if you choose to obtain health care services at a facility other than Specialists Hospital Shreveport.
